England winger Bukayo Saka has signed a new five-year contract extension with Arsenal, keeping him at the club until 2031.
Newsonspot reports that the new deal reportedly makes the 24-year-old the highest-paid player at the club, earning over £300,000 per week.
Negotiations over the extension had been ongoing for nearly a year, with Saka verbally committing to his future with the Gunners in January. His previous contract, signed in 2023, was due to expire in 2027, but the renewal secures his peak years at the Emirates Stadium.
Saka’s contract extension is a major boost for Arsenal as they compete on four fronts this season, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup. The club is currently four points clear at the top of the Premier League and will face Manchester City in the EFL Cup final in March.
Arsenal have also been tying down key players to long-term contracts, with William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly signing new deals last summer.
A product of Arsenal’s academy, Saka made his first-team debut at 17 in 2018 and has since become one of the club’s most influential players. He has made over 217 Premier League appearances, scoring 57 goals, and has seven goals in 33 matches this season.
For England, Saka has scored 14 goals in 48 appearances and is expected to feature in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the upcoming World Cup in June. His new contract secures his future at Arsenal during the prime years of his career and underlines his importance both on and off the pitch.
