Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has launched what many describe as the “Mother of All Empowerments” – a massive rollout of tools, infrastructure, and financial support for more than 2,000 residents of Adavi Local Government Area.
Newsonspot reports that while speaking to a joyful crowd, the senator expressed deep gratitude to her constituents for their trust over the past two years. She reflected on the challenges faced during her tenure, including a six-month suspension which she described as unjust. According to her, this experience strengthened her resolve and inspired renewed commitment to delivering impactful projects.
Despite the suspension, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan highlighted several completed projects across the five local government areas. These include two modern markets with 80 shops each, equipped with abattoirs, electricity, water supply, and toilets. She also built a new primary and secondary school with teachers’ quarters and basic amenities in the Fulani settlement of Osarabogo. Other projects include fourteen solar-powered water systems, 2,000 smart solar-powered streetlights, police quarters, a patrol van, speed bike, and eight new 500kVA transformers.

The empowerment phase of the programme provided life-changing equipment such as electric solar-powered tricycles, deep freezers, gas cookers, sewing machines, grinding machines, cobbler kits, hairdressing tools, fishponds, farming tools, and pesticide sprayers. Many beneficiaries also received startup funds and other financial support.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed heartfelt appreciation to her legislative team, her supporters, and especially her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, whom she praised for his patience and unwavering support. She reaffirmed her commitment to remain accessible and accountable as she continues serving the people of Kogi Central.
Additional initiatives unveiled include educational scholarships, school supplies, new model schools, boreholes, police quarters, streetlights, and a maternity centre scheduled for commissioning in December 2025. The senator also launched the Kogi Central People’s Company Limited by Guarantee, a community-owned entity that will manage assets and fund key social programmes such as scholarships, erosion control, and welfare for widows and orphans.
The initiative has been widely praised as a model for effective constituency representation, blending economic empowerment with infrastructure, education, security, and long-term community development.
