Contrary to reports published by Sahara Reporters on June 25, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, has no involvement in the ongoing fraud case related to the Woobs Resources account.
According to the official charge sheet dated May 12, 2025, the individuals named in the suit include Victor Ukutt, Esq, Fidelity Bank Plc, Whoba Ugwunna Ogo, and Safiya Whoba. Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe’s name is not listed among the defendants.
Further clarification came on June 9, 2025, when the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice issued a press statement confirming that Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe’s name had been struck out from the charges. The reason: she was neither the Managing Director nor the account officer when the allegedly fraudulent account was opened.
This official clarification dispels earlier claims and reaffirms the MD’s non-involvement in the matter.
