Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has stepped into the ongoing controversy between Air Peace and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, calling for calm and due process.
Newsonspot reported that the dispute began after the former Edo State Governor, now a senator, missed his Air Peace flight to Abuja and publicly accused the airline of unfair treatment. Air Peace responded by maintaining that standard boarding protocols were followed.
The incident, which occurred at the Zulu Terminal of the General Aviation Terminal in Lagos, quickly gained national attention, drawing mixed reactions from the public.

In a statement shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, Keyamo revealed he has directed aviation regulators under his ministry to refrain from making public statements or drawing premature conclusions.
“I also directed the aviation agencies to exercise restraint in jumping to conclusions in line with the time-honoured legal principle of ‘hear all sides’ before reaching judgment,” he wrote.
Keyamo also appealed to both parties to tone down the rhetoric while an official investigation is conducted.
“Whilst appealing to both sides to halt the public accusations and counter-accusations, I am further directing the relevant aviation agencies to thoroughly look into the issue, collect all available evidence and revert to my office so we can deal with the issue in such a way as to guide future conducts in similar situations,” he added.
The Minister’s measured response highlights a commitment to fairness, impartiality, and strengthening protocol within Nigeria’s aviation industry.
