Arsenal came from behind to defeat Brentford 3-1, moving up to second place in the Premier League.
Brentford took the lead early when Bryan Mbeumo scored in the 13th minute. Arsenal’s goalkeeper, David Raya, narrowly avoided a major error moments later, clawing the ball off the line. Arsenal equalized soon after when Gabriel Jesus headed in following a rebound.
In the second half, Arsenal dominated. Mikel Merino scored from a corner just five minutes in, and Gabriel Martinelli added a third shortly after. 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri, starting in place of the injured Bukayo Saka, played a crucial role in both second-half goals.
The win keeps Arsenal within six points of league leaders Liverpool, though they have played one more game. Arsenal’s next match is against Brighton, where they can close the gap further.
