Veteran Yoruba actor Fadeyi Oloro has passed on.
The actor, whose real name is Ojo Arowosafe, died after a protracted illness.
The Ekiti-born actor, who rose to prominence during the 80s and late 90s for his trademarked herbalist character in movies died on Tuesday afternoon after a long battle with kidney-related ailments, among other things.
He was aged 66.
Arowosafe was born on September 15, 1957, in Igbara Odo, Ekiti, and became a household name during the cinematic era for his antagonistic roles in Yoruba movies accompanied by his ever-vibrant recitation of chants and incantations.
Ojo Arowosafe started his acting career in the 1980s and appeared in numerous Yoruba movies throughout his career.
This comes four years after he spoke out to deny rumours of his death.
Fadeyi was said to be battling a kidney problem the first time he was rumoured to have died.
In Dec. 2021, Fadeyi cried out to Nigerians for financial assistance amidst health challenges.
Just last month, the actor cried out again for help as he revealed he faced eviction after his landlord gave him quit notice.
Fadeyi Oloro was a popular Nigerian actor who was known for his roles in Yoruba-language movies.
