The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) concluded in grand style on Saturday night in Lagos, bringing together top actors, filmmakers, producers, and digital content creators from across Africa to celebrate excellence in the entertainment industry.
Newsonspot reports that the prestigious award ceremony, held at Eko Hotel and Suites, attracted some of the continent’s biggest names in film, television, and digital media, all gathered to honour outstanding achievements in storytelling, acting, directing, scriptwriting, and content creation.
The event officially commenced at 7 p.m., featuring presentations across multiple categories that recognised exceptional contributions to African cinema and television production.
Throughout the night, several talents emerged victorious in highly competitive categories celebrating acting performances, directing excellence, production quality, screenwriting, and innovative digital storytelling.
The annual awards ceremony once again highlighted the rapid growth and increasing global recognition of Africa’s entertainment industry, particularly Nollywood and other creative sectors across the continent.
Viewers across Africa followed the live broadcast on Africa Magic channels available on DStv and GOtv, while streaming audiences also watched the event through DStv Stream and GOtv Stream platforms.
The 2026 AMVCA further reinforced its reputation as one of Africa’s biggest entertainment events, celebrating creativity, cultural expression, and the evolving impact of African storytelling on the global stage.
