The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the immediate redeployment of several Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various states and key formations across Nigeria.
Newsonspot reports that this strategic shake-up aims to enhance national security and reinforce police presence in critical areas.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP directed all newly appointed commissioners to assume full responsibility for security in their respective jurisdictions and take decisive steps to reduce criminal activities.
He further urged them to uphold professionalism, demonstrate effective leadership, and work closely with communities to build trust and sustain peace.
The redeployment is part of ongoing efforts to improve policing outcomes by placing seasoned officers in positions where their expertise can make the most impact.

CP Bello Rasheed Afegbua – Cross River
CP Dahiru Mohammed – Jigawa
CP Adebowale Lawal – Ondo
CP Ibrahim Gotan – Osun
CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo – Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters
CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin – FCID Annex, Gombe (General Investigation)
