Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has reportedly been killed during Israeli airstrikes carried out inside Iran on Saturday, according to multiple media sources.
Newsonspot gathered that reports from Israeli outlet Ma’ariv, as cited by the New York Post, claim that Ahmadinejad was under house arrest at the time of the attack. He was allegedly killed in a targeted strike on his residence. The Israeli War Room also quoted Iranian media confirming the development.
A statement circulating online described Ahmadinejad as a former leader of Iran’s Islamist regime and noted that he had been sanctioned by the United States in 2023 over alleged involvement in the wrongful detention of American citizens.
Ahmadinejad, who served as Iran’s president from 2005 to 2013, was widely known for his hardline stance, confrontational rhetoric toward Israel and the West, and his role in advancing Iran’s controversial nuclear program during his time in office.

Mohammad Pakpour – Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)
Reza Mozafari-Nia – Former Chairman of SPND
Salah Asadi – Head of Intelligence, Khatem Alanbieh Command
Abdolrahim Mousavi – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces
