A new Nigerian romantic drama titled ‘To Adaego With Love’ is set to arrive in cinemas nationwide on February 6, 2026.
Newsonspot reports that the drama set in 1975, the film tells a deeply emotional story of love, sacrifice, and hope during a challenging period in Nigeria’s history.
The movie follows a soldier and a schoolteacher from different ethnic backgrounds who fall in love despite strong opposition from family, tradition, and society. Their tender but forbidden relationship is tested by loyalty, cultural expectations, and a nation trying to find its way forward.
Produced by Brenda Ogbukaa-Garuba, the film explores themes of forgiveness, quiet strength, and the courage of ordinary people choosing love against all odds. According to her, the story reflects “fragile hope and the power of love in difficult times.”
To Adaego With Love features Chisom Agoawuike and Adam Garba in leading roles, alongside an impressive cast that includes Chioma Chukwuka, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Riyo David, Demi Banwo, Tonia Chukwurah, and Six Foot Plus.
The film also marks the final screen appearance of the late Onyeka Onwenu, adding deep emotional value to the project. Ogbukaa-Garuba described the film as a tribute to the legendary singer and actress, noting that Onyeka brought “truth, grace, and strength” to every scene she appeared in.
Onyeka Onwenu passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, after collapsing shortly after a performance at the 80th birthday celebration of Chief Stella Okoli, founder of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
Directed by Nwamaka Chikezie and executive produced by Tony B. Adesina, To Adaego With Love blends intimate storytelling with rich cultural detail, offering audiences a powerful and timeless love story rooted in Nigerian history.
