Renowned American film director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer and film producer Michele Singer Reiner, have been found dead in their Los Angeles home.
Newsonspot reports that the incident occurred on Sunday, December 14, and is being investigated by authorities as an apparent double homicide.
According to reports, the couple’s daughter, Romy Reiner, discovered their bodies and immediately alerted the police. Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene, where both victims were confirmed dead. The Los Angeles Police Department later joined the investigation.
Initial findings suggest that both Rob and Michele Reiner died from apparent stab wounds. Officials have described the case as a “family incident,” while investigations continue to determine the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths.
In a statement released to Variety, the Reiner family expressed deep grief and requested privacy during this painful period.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,” the statement read.
Rob Reiner was celebrated as one of Hollywood’s most influential and versatile filmmakers. His directing career produced several iconic films, including This Is Spinal Tap (1984), Stand by Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally (1989), Misery (1990), and A Few Good Men (1992).
As an actor, Reiner also appeared in notable films such as Sleepless in Seattle (1993), The First Wives Club (1996), and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).
Michele Singer Reiner was a respected photographer and film producer. She was widely known for taking the cover photograph for Donald Trump’s bestselling business book, The Art of the Deal.
