The Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has officially unveiled the theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Newsonspot reports that the announcement was made on Wednesday in a statement by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
According to the statement, the 2025 theme underscores the importance of unity, collaboration, and patriotism among government institutions, the private sector, civil society, and citizens. It highlights the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in building a nation anchored on sustainable peace, prosperity, and progress.
Reflecting on Nigeria’s journey since independence in 1960, the government noted that the country has weathered challenges while recording achievements across several sectors. Strengthening these gains, it added, requires joint effort in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As part of activities marking the 65th anniversary, special programmes have been scheduled:
Juma’at Prayer: Friday, 26th September, 1 pm
Inter-Denominational Church Service: Sunday, 28th September, 10 am
World Press Conference: Monday, 29th September, 10 am
The government emphasized that all official events and programmes will align with the Independence theme to ensure nationwide resonance.
