A disturbing video has surfaced showing a serving Nigerian police officer, Inspector Olowookere Michael, violently assaulting his wife in front of their distressed children.
Newsonspot gathered that the incident reportedly occurred after the woman asked for financial assistance to pay part of their children’s school fees.
Inspector Olowookere, with AP/No. 312249, is attached to MOPOL 39 Squadron in Osogbo and hails from Ijero in Ekiti State. In the viral footage, the officer is seen raining blows on his wife while their children scream and plead with him to stop the beating.
Sources from Zone XI Police Command Headquarters confirmed the incident, disclosing that the attack was triggered when the children were sent home from school due to unpaid third-term fees. The wife’s plea for support reportedly provoked the violent outburst.
“The wife merely asked for money to cover part of the school fees, but he descended on her as usual,” a police insider revealed, adding that the Inspector has a troubling pattern of domestic violence that is now under investigation.
