The burial plans for the late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah have been mired in controversy as conflicting statements emerged over the weekend regarding his final rites. The former Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial Zone passed away in London on July 27, 2024, at the age of 52.
A viral flyer circulated on social media, purportedly signed and issued by Ubah’s family, announced that the late senator would be laid to rest on Friday, October 11, 2024, in his hometown of Umuanuka, Otolo Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State. The flyer also included a call for tributes in memory of Ubah, providing an email address ([email protected]) for submissions.

However, a contradictory statement emerged over the weekend, signed by Chigozie Udogo, clearly stating that the Ubah family had not yet fixed an official date for the late senator’s burial. The statement appealed to the public to continue offering prayers for the family during this period of mourning.
The statement read, “This is to inform the general public that no official date has been fixed yet for the burial of Senator (Dr.) Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (CON). The family will formally announce the dates for the burial when all arrangements have been concluded. Please continue to put the family in your prayers.”
The conflicting information has left the public confused about the actual burial plans for the late senator. However, TheNigeriaLawyer could not verify if the flyer is from the family. As of now, it remains unclear when the final rites will take place, with the family expected to provide an official announcement once arrangements have been finalized.
