Newsonspot gathered that Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Zamfara State chapter, Alh Ahmad Sani Kaura has reportedly collapsed and died in Zamfara State.
He died today after a protracted illness.
It was gathered that Kaura slumped and died on Wednesday during a peace accord meeting with the Zamfara state council of Ulama ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The Secretary of the party, Faruku Ahmed Gusau, said the chairman who was invited along with PDP stakeholders by the Council of Ulamah for a meeting on how to eschew political thuggery in the state, had developed sickness immediately after he delivered a speech at the occasion.
Gusau said he was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital where he was confirmed dead by doctors.
According to another chieftain of the PDP in the northern state, Aminu Umar, the chairman was sick and was yet to fully recover before attending the meeting.
The late chairman left behind two wives and six children.
The Nigeria Council of Ulamah had organised the meeting involving all the political parties in the state to ensure the peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections.
