Spokesperson Of Ooni of Ife has said he is not unaware of the monarch’s wedding plans, but has refused to make any comment on the issue.
Newsonspot reports that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Spokesperson, Moses Olafare, on Monday, confirmed that the monarch is set to take two more wives in October, as reported in the media.
He, however, refused to comment on the issue as he has not been given clearance to do so.
This online media platform recalls that Ooni married his fourth wife, Olori Mariam Anako from Ebira land in Kogi State, last month, and he is set to take two more wives in October.
According to reports, the monarch, ahead of his 48th birthday celebration, will marry two more wives, Tobi Phillips, and Princess Ashley Adegoke.
Reacting to this, Moses Olafare, said he was not unaware of the upcoming wedding of his principal.
Olafare, however, declared he had no clearance yet to comment on the issue, but may speak if necessary.
Oba Ogunwusi had on September 6, 2022, welcomed into the palace, a new wife, Mariam Anako, with whom the royal father attended the last Olojo Festival.
Shortly after Mariam was unveiled as Ooni’s new wife, some other women had also been linked to the royal father as awaiting queens.
An invite had recently surfaced on the internet of an upcoming wedding ceremony between Ashley Adegoke and Ooni Ogunwusi, coming up on Friday, October 14, 2022, in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Also, another invite was observed going viral on the internet, purporting Oba Ogunwusi, getting married to an ex-beauty queen.
Olafare had all the while, refrained from commenting on information on social media regarding the upcoming weddings of Oba Ogunwusi.
But when contacted on Monday for confirmation of the two upcoming wedding ceremonies that Ooni had been linked to, Olafare simply said, “I am not unaware of information about weddings, but I don’t have formal clearance to comment yet.
“I am aware of certain activities going on, but I have not been officially cleared to comment. I also see those things on social media. At the appropriate time, we will comment, especially if the need arises for that.”
Before his coronation in 2016, Oba Adeyeye was previously married to Adebukola Bombata in 2008, but the marriage failed after his coronation.
After being crowned, Ooni married Edo-born Zainab-Otiti Obanor in 2016, the union lasted for 17 months before their separation and married Naomi Silekunola in 2018.
Ooni’s new marriage is coming ten months after Queen Naomi Silekunola took to social media to announce her separation from the monarch in December 2021. The failed union, which lasted for three years, produced a son Tadenikawo.
