Ijadare, Retired U.S. Army Major, Kidnapped, Worker Killed In Ekiti
A retired United States of America army general, Major Jide Ijadare, has been reportedly whisked away alongside another person by some armed men suspected to be kidnappers in Ekiti State.
According to the report reaching Newsonspot.com.ng at this time, the incident which happened on Tuesday, September 15, along Ijan Ekiti-Ise Ekiti Road in Ijan Ekiti, Gbonyin Council area of the state claimed a life.
Newsonspot.com.ng learnt that the unidentified gunmen invaded Ijadare’ s palm oil-producing factory located along the road and killed a staff working in the factory before abduction the retired army officer and another person to an unknown location.
According to a source who disclosed the incident to newsmen, the worker was shot dead by the heavily armed men numbering about seven. “They shot one of the staff of the factory and killed him. They, thereafter, dragged Major Ijadare and the other staff into the car and zoomed off.” said the source who pleaded anonymity.
No comment, however, has been made by security operatives or families of the abducted retired major as at the time this report was given.
