Former governor of Anambra state, Mr. Peter Obi has dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Obi announced his resignation in a letter dated 20, addressed to the National Chairman of the party.
He dumped the PDP days before the presidential primary elections of the party.
He was one of the leading presidential aspirants of the PDP alongside former vice president Atiku Abubakar, former Senate president Bukola Saraki, Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike and Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal.
In the letter sighted by this online media, Obi gave reasons for his withdrawal from the presidential race.
Director General, Peter Obi Campaign Organisation Doyin Okupe insisted that former Anambra State governor will be on the ballot for the 2023 presidential election.
The former governor under was a running mate to fellow presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 general elections.
