A popular Yoruba actor, Babatunde Omidina, a.k.a Baba Suwe, has passed away.
Baba Suwe died on Monday in Lagos after battling ill-health for years.
The actor died on Monday at 63.
Baba Suwe’s death was announced by one of his daughters, Adesola Omidina.
She said: “This is to announce the sudden death of my father, Babatunde Omidina, the legend and rare gem, Baba Suwe on November 11, 2021. Details and other arrangements will be announced shortly.”
However, the president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan a.k.a Mr. Latin also confirmed the development.
Mr Latin said, “It has been confirmed that Baba Suwe is dead. I just got off the phone with his son who confirmed that the actor is dead. I don’t have much details about his death.”

Baba Suwe became popular for his comical roles in Nollywood films with Yoruba language.
He suffered poor health in 2018, making several Nigerians including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to donate funds for his medical treatment abroad.
He will be buried today by 4pm at his residence, Ewu Elepe, Ikorodu, Lagos
