BBNaija: My Father Was Late Controversial King of Money ‘Ezego’ – Cross…

One of the Big Brother Naija “Shine Ya Eye” housemates, Ikechukwu Sunday Okonkwo popularly called Cross, shocked viewers on Saturday when he revealed that he is the son of late controversial Igbo billionaire businessman, Victor Okafor aka Ezego of Ihiala.

The billionaire, a native of Ihiala in Anambra state, was born on 25th of December in 1964.

His source of wealth had raised unanswered questions as he became wealthy after a brief stay in Lagos.
Ezego passed away in 1999 at the age of 34 in a mysterious circumstance.

The Ihiala man died shortly after he sustained serious injuries from a road accident while travelling to his hometown.

An emotional Cross made the revelation while chatting with fellow housemate, Peace, at the dining table.

Ezego was born on the 25th of December in 1964. He is a native of Ihiala in Anambra state. Late Ezego attended only grade school and would abandon education entirely. He joined an armed robbery syndicate that terrorized the people of Anambra state for years. In 1988, every member of the armed robbery squad were apprehended except Ezego, he was elusive and evaded arrest severally and in 1989 he relocated to Lagos state to pursue business opportunities.

Ezego’s source of wealth was questionable as he amassed his wealth after a very brief stay at Lagos state. Two school of thoughts proffered different possibilities, a school of thought were of the opinion he was engaging in Internet advance fee scams, commonly referred to as 419 in Nigeria, and a different school of thought, which was a view held by super majority of Nigerians was that he engaged in the practice of Ogwu Ego. Ogwu Ego is the practice of human sacrifice to deities in order to acquire wealth. Much credence was giving to this particular theory because he was a disciple of Eddy Nawgu and was affiliated with the Okija Shrine.

The Lagos-based fitness instructor disclosed that the death of his father had a huge negative effect on his mental health.

According to him, the playful Cross that many people know today came about as a result of hard work and personal development.

He further revealed that when his old man died, he had a wave of pent-up anger which he managed to control and overcome during his formative years.

Cross also noted that the lawyer who was supposed to read his father’s will absconded with the documents.
